Atrocities

When I was out and about yesterday,  I came across what looked to me like a wedding procession.  It was at least a mile long, but they were obeying traffic lights, so the procession was really stretched out.

The cars had red and yellow balloons, flags - mostly foreign, some had American and foreign flags.  People hanging out car windows, horns honking - it all seemed very jubilant.

Sadly, this was not a wedding procession.  When I got home and started Googling the flag and the name "Tigray" that was on some of the car signs, I found that this "parade" was a peaceful protest against the genocide of at least 2000 individuals – including children, rape of women and children, and other atrocities happening in the Tigray region in the north of Ethiopia that started November 2020.  Because of the war, no aid workers are able to reach the area and people living in Minneapolis with family back home aren't able to reach their loved ones in Tigray due to communication blackouts.

Techie Corner

This is honestly a crappy picture shot through my dirty windshield while I was waiting for the light, but because of what this procession of cars stood for, I wanted to blog it anyway.

Agitatingly

Boy, I'm sure glad we don't have to do laundry like this anymore!  Some things are best left in the past.

Whacky

This picture is hilarious!  The photographer must have told the kids to make faces.  I especially like the look on the oldest boy's face and the baby's face.  Way too funny!

Smartly

Lovely old pic of my great aunt and 6 of her 10 children.  Looks like they might be in their Sunday best.

Invasionary

Like I said yesterday, rubber ducks are all over our neighborhood.  Could be a new sci-fi movie – Invasion of the Rubber Ducks.
