Fishy Photobomb

While at Starfish Point in Grand Cayman, I saw a short retaining wall extending out into the water.  I waded over to it and saw this beautiful reddish-orange starfish.  It wasn't until I got home and started editing photos that I noticed the sassy fish photobombing the top of the picture.

I haven't used my DSLR much in quite a while.  For this trip, I used my iPhone 14 Pro in raw mode.  To avoid surface reflections, I held my phone underwater.  There were all kinds of people there, kicking up the sand, which caused a sandy haze in many of my pictures.  I did my best to get rid of the bulk of the haze in post-production.

Happy Starfish

Growing up as a landlocked city girl, I didn't see much sea life up close.  Last month, I spent a few hours in Grand Cayman and got to see, touch, and hold some amazing creatures.

The only starfish I had ever seen were the dry, lifeless ones you can find in stores.  I had no idea they came in so many different shapes, textures, and colors.
