We went for a walk during our brief snowfall on Sunday.  A little flocking can even make weeds look pretty.

Unseasonably

First snow of the season to stick to the ground, for a few hours at least.  13 days sooner than last year.  Mostly melted now.  We had flurries a few days this past week. 

Crispy

Saw this on the freeway today.  Hope no one was hurt!  Hard to see in this image, but the front tires are completely melted off.

Woody

One of the jobs my paternal grandfather had was a laborer at the Pine Tree Lumber Company (which would have been called the Pine Tree Manufacturing Company by the time he worked there) in Little Falls, MN. 

This was circa 1915-1920, as, according to the census, he was working there in 1920, but the lumber mill closed in October 1919.
