Turkey

This turkey and his family has taken up residence at a local strip mall.  Yesterday afternoon, after the monsoons had finally passed, he was standing out in the sun in full glory.  I thought I was finally going to get a great shot of him.  But while I was parking and getting out my camera, a couple and their dog decided to invade his space, so he ran over to hide in the landscaping and preen himself instead.

This is the best I could get as he refused to strut his stuff again.  I don't know where the wife and kids were today.  Probably shopping at Burlington.

Hand-holding the camera zoomed out to 300mm, so Mr. Gobble isn't as sharp as I'd like.

Tenacity

Dad retired at 58 and after being retired for a while he decided that it was time to lose weight once and for all. 

Dedicatedly

Continuing with the dad theme.  He was a hard working blue collar worker who worked for the same company for over 30 years.

Celebratory

Sticking with the dad theme, here he is on one of the happiest days of his life.

Military

Thinking about my dad this week.  This was the satchel he took to Korea with him.  Dad was discharged from active duty on this date, September 18, 1954.
