It's been rainy and gloomy the past couple days, but last night as I was leaving work, I noticed these bright bursts of color along my path.  They practically glowed in the wet gloom.  Little orange beacons of happiness.

On this Father's Day eve, I came across this image from 2008.  Russell was part of the motorcycle group I belonged to.  He was a great guy, willing to help anyone.  During a rough patch in my own life, we had a few heart to heart talks, which always encouraged me. 

He's gone now, but the memory of this devoted husband, father and friend lives on.

This was a blurry outtake from a 2004 test shoot.  But I don't care.  These two loved ones are gone, but it makes me smile to see my kitty stare at her grandma with rapt attention while grandma talks to her.
