Snooty

It's hard to be humble when you look this good.  As seen in 2003.

Negative scanned with Epson V600.

Awkwardly

When you just want to put off facing the day as long as possible.

Tonight I was sifting through 110 negatives.  I hate 110 film because it is poor quality and is hard to work with.  This one was well exposed, though.  Maybe a little bit too much exposure.  hmmmmm

Ordinary

More from the "lost" images I was talking about yesterday

There is nothing extraordinary about this image.  It was poorly exposed and possibly wasn't even printed at the time it was developed.  What caught my eye is that it could have been taken this week in south Minneapolis instead of almost 50 years ago, if it wasn't for a couple of things.

One thing is the antique snowblower my dad is using.  I'm not sure why, but by the time I was aware of such things, dad only used a shovel, so this is a rare shot indeed.   Not sure why he didn't continue using a snowblower.

And the main thing that shows this isn't a modern view of Minneapolis is the 55 gallon drums being used as trash cans!  It's funny how something so simple and mundane can really date a picture.

Serendipity

I was perusing old 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 negatives this evening and found several images I had never seen before, including this one of me and my dad.  This really made my night!

I don't know what happened to the prints for these negatives.  I have other prints from the set.  Maybe because this was a "Hey honey, look over here!" unflattering pose?  I don't think so, though, because some of the other "lost" images were really cute.

I know from other pics that dad had just lost a bunch of weight.  He's wearing his baggy pants from his suit in this image.  Not sure if we were getting ready for church or if he was showing off his weight loss.

Serenity

A little color after the 12.4 inches of white we got yesterday.  As seen in 2014.
